The Process
The details about how custom orders work
Custom Ordering
Before a project is completed, a weaver’s hands will have touched every millimeter of fiber that went into it. They pour their love and soul into each work.
The process is a conversation the whole way through. It is important that a customer’s idea be honored in a thoughtful way. Once a type of product is determined (see suggestions below or suggest an idea of your own) then a yarn and pattern will be decided together. Some types of fiber are better suited to certain products than others. Similarly some patterns work better for some products than others and work better with some types of yarn. TMurphy Textiled will then send the proposed project details to the customer with an idea of cost and the conversation continues if any adjustments need to be made. Once the plan is set then the work begins and a beautiful and carefully crafted product will be sent out. As each piece is a customized experience, special requests can be accommodated.
Each of the designs are my own. I will never make a profit from another weaver’s patterns (although I will happily share their credits and broaden the weaver community).

Sunshine Products
Through the process of weaving, Sunshine products are naturally developed. To account for shrinkage, sometimes a product may have extra length and a washcloth can be cut. Other times, I will intentionally leave extra space in a warp to play with a new pattern and a dish towel may result. I may end up with numerous ends of cones at the end of a project and I can weave cloths with those. I also practice new techniques frequently and as those are often not my own patterns I will not sell them, just gift them. All of the products have integrity and are in good condition, they simply are not custom made. Sunshine products are listed in the Etsy shop.
